Wait. Her last name is Jocasta, and she’s a sphinx? Jocasta as in the mother and wife of the man who solved the riddle of the sphinx? If really hope this detail becomes relevant. I mean, if it doesn’t then that’s still a cool use of naming convention, but now I’m rooting for Michelle to be a direct descendant of Oedipus or something.

*ahem* sorry for yelling, but since I found this comic in 2011 that name has been tickling the archives in my head. Certainly this is of importance–either Kory has fun using knowledge that only the Literary might catch, or Michelle is indeed a descendent. Now as I re-read this archive for the umpteenth time I am going to keep my eyes open for the five children of Jocasta: Oedipus, Eteocles and Polynices (boys) and Antigone and Ismene, girls.
