Ahhh Gargoyles! Brent Spiner was in Gargoyles! YES.
Now you have linked Skin Deep to Brent Spiner, and the world is an even better place.

Also, I’m going to Uni this October, and this is encouraging for the whole “meeting friends” thing. Yanno… minus the scary transformation attacked by mythological creatures thing.

90% of the cast of Star trek was in Gargoyals even Kate Mulgrew was in it and that was years before voyager

William Morgan Sheppard* was even in it and he is one of the few actors who was on TOS and modern trek (also voyager and he was on Babalon 5 too)

*father of Mark Sheppard the guy who played Crowley on supernatural and Badger on Serenity among a few hundred other roles though his dad has been in WAY WAY WAY more things

What if some punk of the street decides to peek in, find out since it’s abandoned and is thus even more interesting, and look around a bit?
Any mythical creature of brainwashing powers?
Anyone?

Drake has a point. There are plenty of UE’s (Urban Explorers) out there who will happily risk police and all the nasty stuff that can be found inside old buildings to explore places like this. Not to mention homeless people, drug users, looters, and others looking to get out of the weather, a place to do drugs, stuff that can be repaired and sold for money (in this case, old movie projectors, popcorn machines, old movie posters, etc), or whatever.

Having said that, though, the mythicals do have a few sorcerors and other magic users among them. A simple spell of “nothing important here” would probably suffice. (And anyone that finds the place despite the spells could very well be an unturned mythical creature themselves.)

There used to be a K-Mart in my town. A few months after the store closed, I noticed that the store’s few windows had at some point covered up from the inside… In the years since then, surrounding businesses have reduced their operating hours or closed entirely… and aside from the gym that opened last year in what had once been a drug store, no new businesses have moved into that plaza at all.

…I think that old K-Mart might be a new Avalon. :)

I’m surprised that we still DO have a K-Mart in my town. You’re right, though… there’s places in just about any town that once they close, new businesses trying to set up shop in the same building just have a hard time staying in business.

The “Southwest Mall” (actually a strip mall on South Lake Drive), for example… used to be a busy place, right next to a big residential area. Three screen theater, grocery store (Piggly Wiggly, I think), department store (Howards Brand Discount)… that was then. Now? Only thing there is the Human Services Department and Child Support Enforcement. Every other place that’s tried to open there, couldn’t stay in business.

The owners of the theater are looking for a buyer who wants to keep it as a theater, but the new owners would probably have to upgrade to digital projection, and how do they expect to compete with the Cinemark 14? I dunno, Southwest Mall doesn’t seem to have a bright future ahead of it.

Oh, and related to the above… the OTHER K-Mart we used to have in town, closed years ago. Since then the only other thing it’s been is Bargain Depot, and they closed recently, so the place is looking for new tenants.

K-Mart is in trouble because Sears is in trouble (they’re owned by the same company). If Sears goes under, K-Mart goes with them.
