No update next Tuesday! I am going to ECCC this weekend and I was not able to get the next page done in time, I’m so sorry!

But speaking of ECCC!

I will be at ECCC this weekend! Booth 20815, for Cautionary Fables and Fairy Tales! I’ll be at the table with a bunch of friends, including Kel McDonald, Evan Dahm, Bones Leopard, and Meredith McClaren! I’ll be selling CRYPTID T-SHIRTS for the very first time at a convention! You’ll also wanna swing over to Booth I 03-4 in the Artist Alley and pick up the newest issue of Almost Real! I have a big entry there, all about SPHINXES. So come say hello!

I’m also proud to announce that I’ve joined KNIFE BEETLE, a comic webring for long-form webcomics! Do you like Skin Deep? Would you like to read more comics like it? Check out the other comics on Knife Beetle!

That last Mich face. Brain forming words “Um, -how much- hurt exactly?”

Poor Vera looks like she could use some arnica.

What’s “amica”?

ARNICA: Arnica is an herb that grows in Europe and the U.S. It’s often used as a skin treatment for bruises, aches, and pains.

JoB’s comment is a jape about ARNICA and AMICA looking similar in lower case due to the r and n running together to look like m.

To answer the question, ar nica is a healing herb used for bruises and bone-knitting, similar to comfrey. It often gets used to make an ointment. It’s not great for broken skin, but better as an ointment or a poultice on bruises and the skin above bones broken under the surface. I have also seen arnica in tablets, but don’t know if it would work as effectively through the digestive system.
