The more I see of those two the more I wonder how can you not like um.
Prejudice and racism are powerful mental barriers indeed. Hopefully these ways of thinking can be overcome with an open mind, knowledge, and a willingness to change.
Only the documenting of important history
Perhaps, but this may lead the way to publish findings and open the doors for himself or another to fight for them and improve their circumstances.
What a couple of cool dudes.
I like how Ike is clearly trying to stay more patient with them when he normally gets upset when ribbed by people.
…Or maybe Alex is just special. :p
Oh my — they’re both so thin that their ribs and hip bones are showing! Is that normal for manticores, or are they REALLY appreciative of the free meal?
Yeah, I think they’re really undernourished! :-(
Nah, these two are very, very undernourished. You can see a more standard manticore on page 25. Additionally, from the reader questions, we know that these two busk and beg in the avalon for their meals – and, being exceptionally feared monsters, they likely don’t get much.
Hopefully there will be more interviews. They’re pretty neat.
They really look pretty emaciated. Poor guys!
Is that Jon showing his usual fear… I mean, distrust of monsters?
That would make sense. Is it rude for lions to be in full-form? Otherwise the person freaking out would have to recognize them as manticores and somehow didn’t notice when sitting down.
Page 30 says that it’s Jon. Any other Nemian would be nonchalant even if one of them stepped on his tail, I imagine.

Ah I see. Alec was getting jealous of these two.
