Sometimes I make up characters on the fly and go “dang, I should keep these guys around for something.” So maybe you’ll see this family again, who knows.
Thank you to everyone who pledged to the book Kickstarter! It’s been fully funded and now I get to start the process of printing!

Miss little Deer-girl is absolutely adorable, SO smug and pleased with herself! Girl, I would’ve done the same thing– all the medallions, every last one. <3
I love them.
Ysabet is right, I would keep trying medalions too, lol.
Now I’d love for Deer Girl to meet our surly Bird Boy, see the contrast in their takes on turning xD
Of course, there’s the important difference that she already knew about the existence of “mythical” species, as well as how medallions are used.
In contrast, Tony the Harpy-Guy had only just found out about nonhumans the same day he learned that he is one — and that there’s no medallion for his kind of nonhuman [yet].
Not to mention he’s an impossibility made manifest.
A male harpy.
Not impossible, just exceedingly rare.
Ah, yes, I forgot that old Reader Question…

Oh deer.
oH my gosh this family unit is so cute I love them, and I love how smug that girl is, she was right and she’s not letting anyone forget it !
I could see this family showing up in the background. Maybe just after Mom has turned and she’s getting used to being all deery.
Madam U: Yes- yes- of course you must- I mean, may try them all! We might yet find a sale- I mean, a match! *avaricious handrubbing* £u£

That makes me wonder if unturned mythicals are somehow attracted to other mythicals.
This little girl makes me laugh, so smugly proud of herself.
“Look how normal you turned out to be.” Ike to Antony, I think.
It might be that the hidden are still “off” enough that they don’t get along with completely bog-standard humans as well as people who aren’t.
So, no satyress in Skin Deep? How about Glaistigs?
Lily Snodgrass (from The Bugbear Taalisman) is a glaistig.
Would LOVE to see a chapter about them!
Not just about the girl finding her magical identity and going through the trails of trying to keep such a big secret from her friends and others, but also of Mum finding out the possibly of who she really is and if such a change will/would define her or if she was always this in the first place? Or both parent and child could find out what it all means to them.
If that makes sense?
That family looks like they would have an interesting story, already knowing about it, but one side not knowing their own history. slowly finding out more and more of them where actually mythics.
the dad’s VVitch shirt is a hilarious detail.
Touch! TOUCH touch touchietouchtouch
I wanna see this moment plz
Okay, this is entirely too cute and adorable and wholesome.
