Wolpertingers are generally only seen in Europe and jackalopes aren’t often found outside North America, but sometimes young wolpertingers can be mistaken for jackalopes, much to both’s chagrin.

Lack of medallion makes sense, but it didn’t occur to me that Jackalopes would be shapeshifters or spirit animals.
I love that Jack’s arm just says “Tattoos”, it takes me back to the height of Overwatch and you got one of 4 things when people drew Hanzo – His actual tattoos(Either pasted from his reference or actually hand drawn in detail), a really bad representation of it in the most wonderful way, just a straight BLOB of blue…. Or “TATTOO” down his arm.
I also love that you’ve perfectly captured the look in a jackrabbit face, this is a creature that has Witnessed Things and Perceives All
Also, it’s clearly a hare vs rabbit lagomorph thing. Jackrabbits are hares, rabbits are rabbits. The latter is cute and furry and occasionally fierce. The former is filled with madness.
I dunno if Jackalopes are default shapeshifters, but T. Kingfisher’s Jackaope Wives gave them skin-shifting, if they had their jackalope skin… (So like selkies, if you took the skin, they could be trapped in human form.) So sounds plausible to me!
