I love seeing Michelle happy again, especially after everything she has been through so far.
Also, it’s cool to learn some lore and backstory about one of the buildings in the Avalon, that we previously just saw in the background and not much after that. Plus, good on those fellow humans to do something so nice like that!

Nice to see a fictional representation of my religion that actually fits my belief that the image of God isn’t humanity, it’s sophont thought. Shame they were Catholics, but hey, it’s still better than having to denounce Philip Wittlebane every time religion gets discussed in the Owl House fandom.
Philip likely wasn’t a Catholic. Given that he speaks English in an American colony, he was likely from a Protestant subset – Puritan, Quaker, Shaker, or Church of England.
The dangers in the environment, plus the fact that the settlers depended on the corporations and investors for any old world tech and luxuries, made the American colonies a perfect breeding ground for authoritarian cults.
Fanatical purity culture – magic, sex, gender, money- is a great way to keep your workforce focused on an external threat instead of realizing that you are milking them for every ounce of labor they have.
Owl House captured that real world dynamic brilliantly. People likely weren’t trying to cancel it just because of the kiss.
That… sounds like a possible lead, actually. The church might have books!

Mark was the lion because his gospel began with St John the Baptist the voice ROARING in the desert.

I think she has to focus and make the effort to maintain absolutely human form to dim the glow. You’ll notice she’s displaying other nonhuman traits (teeth), as well.
If you go into animals and Christianity, an EXCELLENT little German reference book to imagery in medieval works of art is Symbol-fibel: eine Hilfe zum Betrachten und deuten Mittelalterlicher Bildwerke by Klementine Lipfert, Johannes Stauda-Verlag Kassel, 1957. Not only are animals, but plants, colors, persons, and objects described in here.

Seriously, go look it up- the imagery of St. Francis receiving the stigmata often has an uncanny resemblance to lasers, sometimes even using red beams.

Oh, good eye! Could it be that’s because she is linked to the Sphinx power right now? I remember the engraving appearing when she changed to full form in front of the Elders.

You’re right, her medallion showed a Sphinx. And the original Jocasta has the same glowing eyes, though later when they meet the dragon she has normal eyes.
That happened “spontaneously” back in Illuminations while she was getting the data dump from the Egg.
