Sadly I don’t think the word “trauma bonding” would’ve been in their lexicon in like, 1999.

Doesn’t mean the phenomena couldn’t still happen
Probably. But it still happened. Like PTSD, people probably had that when we were still living in caves, just didn’t have a word for it.
