St. George? Usually it’s St. Christopher — Orthodox tradition has him dog-headed since Diocletian.
Ah, but St. George was around after the invention of medallions, so he wouldn’t necessarily have been openly nonhuman!

I think you might have gotten them mixed up. I’ve never heard that St. George was a cynocephalus. but I have heard that St. Christopher was.
But then again, hey! The lore was soft and pliable back then. I’d bet people believed all sorts of things.
Okay, so if cynocephali exist in this universe, does that mean Blemmye do too?
I wonder if he’s the cynocephali version of a certain bugbear who instead claims that basically everyone is an unturned cynocephali.
My headcanon is he’s gotten people used to the question, so now he swaps out the names of different saints for funsies.
