That’s not “not needing shoes”, it’s “not finding shoes that fit his weird bird feet”.
I think he could wear flip-flops, though.
Is there somebody who can make Tony special shoes so he doesn’t have to worry about gum on his feet anymore…?
Gum is probably the least of his worries…
The old question in all kinds of public transport, “why should I not put my feet up the seat in front of me?”. Well, that’s why. You (well, I) don’t know what kind of stuff I was stepping into today, blood, vomit, excrement, anything. And considering those super short skirts the ladies like to wear nowadays, that goes right onto their thighs. Disgusting even to think about…
Something like the space boots and the sandals that Talita wears in “Runaway to the Stars” would work, I expect.
I’m so used to walking around barefoot that it’s interesting seeing someone who doesn’t like having the excuse!
I recommend leather socks.
Hmmm. He’s what, zygodactyl and his feet are sort of like a rooster’s but without the spur, right? (Oh man, a spur would’ve been a MAJOR problem, how do roosters even sit down without impaling themselves somewhere delicate?) So maybe some sort of canvas wraps? Looks like the major amount of weight is going to go just behind where the toes converge, so that might work. Really, his feet are more like a giant reptile’s than a bird’s (which, hello dinosaur! With his wings clipped short, he really does look more like a dinosaur than a bird. Interesting.) Do the Avalons have shops that specialize in shoes? I seem to recall that trickster-girl who bought the anti-Bugbear medallion drooling over a pair of shoes in a shopwindow at some point. Maybe places where centaurs could get shod and foot complaints could be diagnosed and treated? Because you know, most of the characters’ feet aren’t really made for two-legged bipedal movement– you’ll have some stresses and possible bony growths there that’ll be painful.
YES! There are shops that specialize in shoes! Ike and his girlfriend looked at some that were for felinids. (Or big cats rather.) Just before he saw his mom again. But they are expensive as of course everything needs to be made by hand.
To Anthony: How does it feel knowing you’re now technically part dinosaur?
If he’s technically part dinosaur, then he’s also technically part fish and other part fish. (All tetrapods — that’s us mammals, as well as reptiles, amphibians, and birds — descend from bony fish.)
Question! What type of Harpy is Tony’s? I mean bird wise? Is he a Swallow, Swift or maybe a Martin?
He’s a frigate bird!
