“Bugbear induced damage”… likely been seen before by Abby and no doubt will be again. I expect Abby knows who to blame for this sort of shenanigans… and that would usually be Alec but for once he’ll likely be truthful when he claims it wasn’t his fault at all.
In Dean’s defense…unless you’re a creature that EATS…whatever the hell that thing was… that would probably be anyone’s reaction to finding …THAT… in their drink.

I’m wondering if immediate proximity of the talisman throws of Alec’s “aim”.
Maybe, although so far it seemed as if it mainly hides people from bugbears’ perception.
It may be for good reasons why they don’t live in greater numbers in the same place…

Oh yeah, I forgot the postpay thing they do in bars in America. I guess for the sake of tipping culture, come to think. But although the glass is a liability, it is probable he already paid for the drink.
Betting that this is an unintentional aspect of both Alec being so riled up and the proximity of two bugbears in the same place.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the bugbear creepy aura is compounded when multiple are together, and that is the real reason bugbears are usually solitary.
Do bugbears actually summon the creepy-crawlies with magic, or are they just really good illusions?
if i remember, last time Alec tried to prank “Petrus” with a tarantula and he ate it instead, Alec complained that it costed him money to buy that spider
so, i think they are real bugs, and that he can control them somehow
dude, you just put a huge “prank me” target on yourself right there

Is the someone doing that to the drink or a natural side effect of two bugbears in the same room? O.o
If, on the next page, its turns out that the entire ceiling‘s crawling, I’ll be willing to call it an area effect. :-P
In the original story with Lily, Alec infested her mead with live bees, so it’s not Alec’s first verminizing of a drink.
I wonder where the beer went and where the bugs came from. Or if those are bugs consisting of beer.

For some reason I suspect that Kevin holding onto the Bugbear Talisman has resulted in his Bugbear Powers to get out of his control. Like it’s designed to be a counter to them, scrambling their unique senses and, after touching it, scrambling their powers so long as they remain nearby in it’s “Perception Scrambling Field”.
Or being in that field for an extended period of time causes… issues with a Bugbear’s Control, and Kevin has been in that field for JUST long enough for it to start to have negative effects.
