These two I swear to god
i like to think Alec cannot melt into shadow like that, he just left with his cousin, but he created an illusion that he stayed behind, so when he got far enough from it, the illusion dissolved
Noira did it during the fight in the cave. Disappearance? Teleport action? Illusion?
since they can make fake critters appear (in addition to be able to control real ones) their illusion power should be high, so i’m betting on just illusion
I’d go so far as to say probably most of the people in-setting would also like to think Alec can’t melt into shadow because if he can it’s just that much more disturbing which, of course, is the point when one is a bugbear.
Panel 3, the banner says “Galan Geaf!” instead of “Galan Gaeaf!”.

Abbie still probably has my favorite character design. Her or Merial.
I think the “river crossing puzzle” solution to this is to have Alec perform and Kevin do security. If Kevin performs, I think Alec will sabotage it to show how much better he is as a bugbear. Kevin feels like he’s emotionally mature enough to be annoyed by it, but to still not actively fuck things over. Alex will still probably go over the top while performing, but hopefully not as badly as he would if he were deliberately trying to ruin things.

Usually, they come from inside communities/relationships. But not always.
