Vrykolakas could be the actual source for legends of vampires and werewolves. They might not *work* exactly like either, but could have enough similarities that the legends grew from that. They may or may not be extinct.
That or it’s bugbears playing pranks.
Hey Kory, since there was so much Beatles inspiration especially early on in the story, I have to ask: are any of the Fab Four known to be mythical creatures? And if so, what are/were they?
Of course. They were all bugbears.
Wow! seeing that question get answered, maybe I’ll make a whole list on different creatures that could exist in the skinfeep universe!
Also, Kory, do you know if your going to the SNAFU Con 2018 on November 16-18?

What’s the deal with the Queen of Hearts down in good ol’ Wonderland? Is she a non human, or something?
Reader Question: It seems like all the mythical creatures in Skin Deep are some manner of animal hybrid, whether human/animal or animal/animal, etc. Are there any that aren’t?
Um. Would you include Ravi, Gabe and the Grim Brothers in your definition of “the mythical creatures” … ?
