Granted they would likely feel differently if the specific chicken that laid the egg could speak, was sentient, and ran the avalon’s deli.
She would probably get asked this question a lot too, come to think of it. Especially if they sold chicken.
In addition,birds tend to have less hang ups about cannibalism than humans,plus less diseases that can be transmitted as such. Granted if it affects Avalon residents that would mean deer based creatures would avoid venison out of sheer necessity and multiple other species would avoid similar meats (minotaurs and beef ,sheep based critters and lamb) for fear of TSEs .
